Release Highlights
Introducing Play Versions
Now Playground supports and maintains a list of all previous versions of a play, available as an additional tab on the Play details.This gives user flexibility to rollback to a previous version. Thus giving peace of mind to restore the implementation of there are any issues with a new version.
Additonally, Platform provides the ability to add version highlights that are visible to users on Play details page(right-side panel). This helps in identifying the change introduced in the new version. To know more about it, go to this link.
Create Package Type Plays
Now Playground allows you to manage all your Salesforce Managed/Unmanaged packages on the platform itself via Package type Plays.
By just providing Package Id and Package Version, users can create a play and easily install it into any of your Orgs. The step by step process is documented here.
Platform will also track installation activities and it will start appearing in reports.
Enhanced Play Creation Wizard
With new Play creation wizard, Play creation process is much more simplified. The wizard guide users through the steps of selecting a Play type, an upload source and then finally allowing to provide the Play details. Below is the screenshot to show new UI for the wizard.
Content Limit on Play Details
Play fields are now enhanced with a character count, which inform users when the content is close to hitting the threshold. This encourage users to add precise and relevant information on the platform. Few of the examples are shown below in the screenshot.
Set Delete Frequency for Archived Plays
The Playground Admin can now control the delete frequency of archived Plays via General Section of Control Panel. The default delete frequency is set to 15 days from being archived.
Enhanced Image Section on Play Details
Image section is now updated to show larger thumbnails of Play images on Play details page for better visibility.
