Release Highlights
Introducing Reports & Dashboards
A brand new reporting experience that replaces the earlier stats screen. From Reports & Dashboards in your profile menu you can ask questions of your Playground data, see the answers as tables or charts, save the questions you ask, and put them together on dashboards. It comes with date shortcuts like Last 30 days, many chart types (bar, line, area, pie, doughnut, stat, trend and gauge), search / filter / sort on tables, and ready-made reports. The page uses your Playground's own colors. To know more, go to this link.
Introducing Packs (BETA)
Group related plays into one ordered Pack, choose the version of each play, and then download, validate or deploy the whole set in a single action. Packs show up in Explore, in search and in your profile, and the activity of each play shows which pack it was used through. Packs are available only if your Playground admin enables them. The feature is in BETA, so please try it out and share feedback. Details are here.
MCP Support Improvements (BETA)
Create plays with your AI assistant through MCP, now with a simpler connection experience. The App Password window was redesigned to be clearer and fits without scrolling, connect tokens make it quicker to link an assistant, and MCP access is now respected per role. To get started see MCP Support.
Better Search Results
Search now ranks results by relevance so the plays you are looking for are easier to find. Matches in a play's title count for more than matches in its description, and results come back in a more sensible order.
Fresh Landing Page and Profile
A refreshed landing page that explains what Playground is and gets new visitors started quickly, along with profile improvements.
Real View Counts on Plays
Play views are now counted by Playground itself, so the numbers shown on plays no longer depend on any external analytics service.
Faster, More Reliable Downloads, Deployments and Uploads
Many people can now download, deploy and upload plays at the same time without affecting each other. Updating a play by file upload, from VS Code or from a repository has also been made much more dependable, and the screens tell you clearly when an update contains no changes.
Updated Salesforce Tooling
The Salesforce tooling behind validate, deploy and retrieve has been moved to the current Salesforce tools, so Playground keeps working with the latest Salesforce releases and API versions.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem where files from one person's download or deployment could be mixed into another person's when several were happening at the same time.
- Fixed errors when connecting to Bitbucket, including the token for newly created repositories.
- Fixed updates of a play through file upload and VS Code that could fail or pick the wrong folder.
- Fixed a case where a play update with no changes was not reported clearly.
- Fixed sorting on the plays page that did not apply as expected.
- Fixed the redirect after being asked to sign in when opening a page you were not authorised to see.
- Fixed outdated page titles and sharing previews (meta tags).
- Fixed a sign-in cookie issue that could cause unexpected sign-out behavior.
- Fixed connection passwords and tokens being cut off when they were long.
- Error messages no longer expose any internal details or connection credentials.
- Fixed MCP usage not being recorded correctly, and a case where an MCP-related setting was not picked up from the Control Panel.
Other Improvements
- Improved diagnostics across the platform so that any issue you report can be traced and resolved faster.
- Background jobs, such as weekly summaries and notification cleanup, are now easier to monitor.
